I have been on a paleolithic diet for a few years now. I have been interested in nutrition for about 10 years and have settled on this approach because I like the straight forward philosophy that underpins it which makes making decisions about good and bad food choices easy.
I am not strict Paleo. I do eat the cake , toast and even rice but it is not the mainstay of my diet. I minimize starch, sugar and avoid reduced sugar and reduced fat foods. Unlike the strict Paleo diet I do not try to minimize fat and use it where it will improve flavor.
I avoid the reduced fat and reduced sugar food because they are not good for your health. Reduced fat foods generally contain added sugar (to make up for the lack of fat). Reduced sugar foods generally contain artificial sweetners which are linked with increase in cancers bit also more importantly cause increased appetite and mess up your metabolism.
1. Boiled Eggs and soldiers(no toast is definitely not Paleo but I do like it wit my eggs)
with Green beans garlic and onion cooked in plum tomato
3. Fresh Fruit and nuts with 2 spoons of greek yoghourt
4. Poached eggs, mushrooms, spinach, sausage (or pork chops)
5. Weight gain elixir (I don’t eat this but this could be suitable for anyone wanting to gain wieght)
